Up bright and early and got ready to drive back to Indio. I have a Albertson’s located, so we will see. Nope, no pharmacy. But there is a CVS pharmacy. I dealt with Tala. Seems like cake except I can’t get them till tomorrow. Sounds like Bob G’s hip is bothering him. We’ll see.

Finding propane is a bit of a pain in the ass. If I just wanted to trade, cake. But finding a bulk guy not so easy. I’m cruzing the industrial part of town when I spy a big propane tank at a little Mexican neighborhood store. NICE people. Get my tank filled, I already been to the market, so JTNP here I come.

Side note: the picture of the WiFi signal is for the amphitheater. I know some loads who walked around looking for a signal with their phone. Not mentioning names.

Got back, had lunch and got ready to take the mine loop. I have certain ….rules… I try to follow when hiking by myself. I BROKE everyone of them today. Take your backpack w/ all my emergency stuff, no. Plenty of water, no. DO NOT go off trail, no. Leave a note where I’m going, no……… Now these weren’t dangerous transgressions but….Now when you go off trail you discover the strangest things.

The trail going to the mine bypassed something I wanted to look at, so I started off trail. As I started up this wash, within a couple of hundred yards, out of the corner of my eye I caught some white. It was a small coffin maybe 3” long with a notebook paper folded up next to it. Back behind some rocks but just viewable from where I was. Really? WTF. I stood there wondering if I should look at it. Hmmm, I picked the coffin up and shook it. There is something in it and sort of heavy. Hmmm. I pick up the note and read the page and half of writing. TL;DR someone lead a hard life and if she had only accepted Jesus, life would of been good. Okay. I put everything sort of back where it was and continue on. See the pictures.

I did bring the green chair with me. I have done a couple of things this trip and forgot the green chair. I get to the mine. All closed up of course but cool none the less. I got back to the schooner, had a nice dinner and got ready to hike to Lost Palms Oasis in the morning.
