Didn’t get started till afternoon. Roads are pretty much bare and dry but it is cold. As I dropped over Lost Trail low teens and never got about 19F. Made it past Salmon and stopped for the night at Kilpatrick Fishing Access.
I have stayed at this spot a couple of times but always in the winter. It’s appeal is, off 93 a short ways and it has a outhouse and it’s 160 miles or so from MSO. I don’t ask for much.
I’m am more prepared for cold weather. No water in the schooner’s tanks but a couple of 2.5 gallon containers, that I mounted above the sink, ( for some reason they do not freeze ) to get me bye till I’m in warmer weather. I also cut reflective bubble wrap to fit all the windows except the very front. I think it helps just in the fact that it stops the cold air from dropping off the glass. I turned on the furnace to warm it up but just used my Li’l Buddy to maintain it.
Had a late lunch in Hamilton so no dinner tonight. Kevin White’s tomorrow! Certainly not in traveling mentality yet, it’ll take a couple of days. I’m bundling up and going to bed.
