Saturday 2/10

Gosh i like it when i go to bed at 9:30 and wake up at 5:00am. Unhook the CPAP and snooze for another hour or two. Not much to breaking down, although by the amount of dishes i generated last night you would of thought there was a party. My Whirlybird Popper has earned a permanent spot.

Because i am such a ….forgetful…. person i have these checks for go-no go. Kettle on, no go outside. Must sit inside till fire is off. Keys on carabiner when schooner unhooked electrically from Bill. Keys off carabiner when hooked back up. Move a vehicle length then get out and double check before vacating campsite. Know EXACTLY where 10 is. Not, I’m pretty sure, but know.

Draining the schooner isn’t a big deal. Dealing with shit has been my life. Harper, this is really one where Poppa needs to slow down. No mistakes. A nice parking spot in front of the shower house. A lady quiz me on the schooner and truck. A lot of people driving 40’ 5th wheels like the idea of small. Lots of TC here in Texas. There are A LOT of pickups in Texas.

The shower! Nice, but there are two showers! I causally asked if the shower was in use last night. “Occupied” was the answer. Oh well, must of been a old guy. So cleaned up, tanks unloaded, need to fuel up, grocery up and tackle up.Del Rio here i come.

Amistad National Recreation area. There is a dam in Del Rio that stops the Rio Grande, the Pecos and Devil Rivers. Big reservoir. Stop at the visitor center on the way in and decide to reload in Del Rio and head back out here. About 8 miles, not far. Okay, fuel(10.91) Bill doesn’t like the putzing around on the slow rocky roads. A Walmart, so regrocery. Find a tackle shop and buy a year non resident-all waters ($68) and $30 of tackle. Mostly Kevin White boppers/plastic worms & frozen shrimp. I forgot a couple of items at walmart so returned there. Okay, the tackle guy said the CG out TX277 would be nice, so away i go.The only thing i didn’t get filled was fresh water in the schooner.I have less than 10 gal but that along with the 5 gal drinking water i have should last.

277 North CG. About 15 sites. $2 per night. Perfect. Get situated, FaceTime Harper and Maci, looks like snow last night. Get my fishing gear ready and head off to walk around and fish a little. Got the green chair so plenty of sit a spell. Need to study up on Texas fishing so there can be some Texas catching. The dam covered the old road but you can still walk on it for a ways. Cold water. Headed back to update TTRLT.N

Beautiful afternoon, 70’s sunny. Sat at my picnic bench and updated TTRLT.N Loading pictures takes a bit of time. Enough to go have a safety meeting in the schooner. Loaded up EIGHT days of pictures and a couple of days of thoughts. Still not satisfied with my pictures. Too bad, deal with it.

The GoPro. I have a few that i could post but they seem to be to large. I didn’t have the problem loading when shooting vid with super camera. I need to sort it out ‘cause I’m shooting some decent vid.

Been snacking all day so no dinner. Good night.
