Monday 2/12

Just cold this morning, 38. Pretty much ready to go last night before bedtime. Went out and took care of the outside stuff, started Bill and idled out of there. Going to try Governor’s Island CG. First, need to see about getting the schooner some water. I find the dump station and get my little shutoff installed, turn it on and start timing. I figure no more than 5 gals a minute, so in 2 minutes i shut down and go test the level. I want over 20 gals, mostly for washing dishes, toilet and any water I’m boiling. I have regular drinking water to fill my bottles. Three and half minutes gives me what i want.

I cruise the day use area and boat ramp. Take a short stroll on a nature trail and watch a few bass boats unload. Some nice swimming / diving areas. As in scuba. The reservoir is know for it’s clarity. Watched a guy in a boat fish the area right by me. Went down and tried it after he left. Neither one of us had any luck. Better go find Governor’s Island.

Small CG right off the bridge. #7 is tonight’s choice. Beautiful views, sunny and breezy. A couple nights here i think. Lots of little coves to fish in. Traffic & train noise off and on. Nice spot.
Tramp around all afternoon, fishing pole and green chair, here’s the thing, carrying the green chair AND a fishing pole seems to look normal. So it’s not the green chair, it’s the thing that’s missing that raises people’s brows. Good to know.

Never saw a fish, smelled a fish or caught a fish but had a nice walk. Wore my boots all day. My feet thanked me. Looked at Padre Island CG webcam, looked cold and windy. Hmmm. Need to look tomorrow afternoon and see the prognosis. Golf, Michael is sending me pictures of golfing in Kauai, i need to golf.
