The sun is struggling to get thru the clouds and winning at times. 66 this morning! Lots of road less traveled today. Should be historical site overload. The plan: get to Uncle J in a somewhat timely fashion.

Lots to see, lots of historical sites. First 40 miles or so “Ranch Road” 40-45 mph, windows down, just enjoying the drive. Texas is proud of their history and marks a lot of death and destruction and Texas Ranger confrontations. A lot of family history. GTT-Gone To Texas. That’s me. Total mileage today will be less than 150 miles plenty of time to dilly-dally.

Dripping Springs, Texas! The GPS brings me to UJ in a convoluted way. There would be less u-turns if i just trusted the damn thing. Maybe because i have the “English women” as the voice, what in the world does she know about driving in the US?

Here! I guess if i had, or needed a destination I’m there. Just under 4500 miles and 38 days. No major problems and a lot of country covered. I love the desert and Texas!

No UJ, oh no. I had forgotten how nice his place is. Nice. New complete fencing with 12’ gate! Nice. The schooner is going to like it. I’ll drop the schooner off Bill tomorrow and get it plugged in. Once i’m powered up, good to go. Maybe unload the some of the stuff out of Bill. We’ll see. I made a list this afternoon:
Golf
Hike
Fish
Bike Ride
Museums
That will be a good start.

If this goes as other longer stops have, my posting won’t be consistent. But this will be more active these other layovers so, we’ll see.
