Friday/Saturday/Sunday 3/9-11

Golf today. Last Friday i was cold. Not today. Same course and UJ’s regular foursome + me. 7:36 tee off. They golf every Friday morning. Hit the ball well. Couldn’t putt. Bob Gaughen would of given me that god damn puppet and it would of never left my bag. A couple of 4 putts. TWO double hits out of the SAME sand trap. But i hit the ball good. On in regulation 11-12 holes. Shot 47- ?. The sand trap fiasco was on the back so most likely worse. Ball was about a foot away from the edge of the trap that was about a foot high. PW. I’m shaking my head thinking about it. NICE group of COMPETITIVE guys. I drove the ball on 18 as well as ever have. Bogey! 3 putt.

UJ is heading to Wichita Falls for a weekend tourney. We messed around with the clay courts but decided to leave the water off till I’m here tomorrow to reset everything. Read the instructions that i found on the internet and i think a master plumber should be able to handle it.

Saturday morning. I want to get to ATA and get these float valves adjusted. It won’t take long then i think I’ll head to the Capitol and get some culture. I get the green chair and my tool bag and away i go. Hmmm, looks like UJ left the water on cause i can see from a ways away a little pond….coming from out of the ground by the shutoff valve box. WITW(not what i really said, not even close)….big sigh….shut everything down and go find the shovel. A 1” tee wasn’t glued correctly and blew apart. Get it uncovered, drained and cut out. Make a material run come back and reassemble. The tee looks like someone used “Wet” pvc glue. Didn’t work. Not my work Tyler. Okay it’s noon, I’m muddy, i got pvc purple primer on my hands and my shoes need a good hosing. Nope on the Capitol. Head back to the schooner for lunch and some reading and some nothing. Head back to ATA about 4 and turn everything back on and start adjusting. We’ll know in the morning how close we are. Can take up to 24 hours to notice a difference. Patiences.

Daylight Saving time today. None of UJ clocks were even close in his kitchen so i reset everything. Headed ATA way to check on the clay courts. Not bad, not bad. You should be over before you can be right on. But not too much over. Sent UJ some pictures. Went back to the schooner and made a nice breakfast. UJ has a toaster so toasted bagels w/ scrambled eggs&salsa.

Decided to try and get to a local “muni’ course in Austin. Lions Municipal Golf course. One of the earliest in Austin. Think university but 18 holes and longer. Practiced putting and played two balls – 9 holes. Fluffed everything and moved the ball if needed. Went off as a single about 2:30. Oh, dogs are allowed! Had fun.

Playing Tuesday and Friday with UJ. May try to get 1 or 2 more rounds in. We’ll see how the body holds up. Got back to UJ and used his kitchen to cook some pork chops and potato salad. I’ve been eating way to much since i got to Austin. I think I’ll leave either Friday after golf or Saturday morning. I’m in no particular hurry to get back, but once you head north, the weather dictates speed. I have in the back of my mind to head west from Colorado Springs or south then west. We’ll see.
