Monday 3/19
Well, she blew last night! Not the worst wind I’ve been in. Bill and the schooner go down the road at 60-70 mph with crosswinds so we rock a bit but nothing unbearable. But, oh baby, better have a tight hold on the door when opening. Still windy this morning. The wind advisory was till 7am this morning, maybe they should extend it. No reason to get up early so snoozed till 8:30. Clear this morning and last night. Was out about 4 this morning for a errand and tons of stars. Looks like a reading day. I also have marginal wifi that comes and goes from the SP router. Got a cuppa and the lil buddy going and a oldies radio station plus lots to read and numerous videos. I think I’ll be okay.
Eagle Point is two and a half miles away so off I go. Nice walk. Took the green chair and supercamera + water. Got hung up for 15 minutes or so on the return waiting on a couple of buffalo to clear the trail. No way around them. I stood back and started by a couple of times before I made it. Not confident of my buffalo karma. I certainly didn’t dilly- dally once I got by. Nice to get back to the schooner.
Spent most of the afternoon reading and road planning. A couple of different options. If I go by Geiger’s, I’m just about committed to 1000 mile interstate trip home. Be home in 2-3 days after leaving John’s. If I go west and stay lower I can probably stretch it out for 5-6 days and go back thru SLC and Idaho, but no John.
