Friday 9/14

Overcast again this morning. Low 40s.No sense getting out of bed early. Just means i have to put the heat on. I can see my fishing area out my upper windows, so laid there looking for fish to rise…..nope. Got up 7:30ish had breakfast and decided to walk east up the road for a mile or two. I was ready this morning, long underwear, stocking cap and down jacket. Maybe over dressed after walking awhile. I truly have the best spot, so I’m staying here again today.

Fog has burned off and the sun is shining. I can grab a rod and cast in a matter of seconds, if i see something rising….of course, nothing is rising. Sat in the sun and read and fished. Caught a couple but they are big enough that when fishing from shore i have broken the leader trying to get them unhooked. Finally got the net out and never caught another fish! Oh well. When there are a lot of fish rising i put my waders on and get about knee high in.

Beautiful day, sunny, mid 60’s. Finished the book and sat by the river all day. Nice! Going to start heading east tomorrow. 10-20 miles or so, i think.
