Saturday 9/15

Cold last night, got down to 33F. Got up 7:30ish and got going by 10. Cleaned and organized all my fly boxes, put a bungee on my net to make it easier to use. Left my rods up and loaded in the schooner. There has been a large hatch of…spruce moths, maybe? Large, white, not sure what they are but the fish are ignoring them. There is lots of food floating down the river but the fish are finicky. A few black and orange catapillers.

Went about 20 miles west on st joe river road to Tin Can CG. CG closes Monday, which means they lock the bathrooms. Tried fishing but nothing happening. Sunny in the morning, but overcast in the afternoon. Got the solar up and working. Need about 30’-35’ of #10 or #8 wire to be able to move the collectors around. Pretty simple setup.

No cell coverage, so I’ll have a few days worth of posting. Lost all my hubcaps! Probably on the road from St Regis. Washboard city. Oh well, I had already lost one up on the Bull River when we went golfing. Just came back from fishing, nope, nothing.

Reading “Stone Song: A Novel of the Life of Crazy Horse” by Will Blevins. Interesting.

Going to head out west tomorrow, still 60 miles left on this road and two days worth of fishing license. I’m spoiled after the last couple of days.
