Wednesday 9/18

Wednesday 9/18

A wonderful morning. Clear, crisp but not cold, a nice shitter and a flock of ducks! The plan is to get to Yellowstone early, i mean early, and get some geyser watching in before the crowds get up. That didn’t work out, got going around eight and its 40 miles to West Yellowstone on dirt roads. The roads are drying out so not as slippery. Just a nice pleasant drive. Pulled into West Yellowstone by 11:00, fueled (10.98 mpg) got some grocery and headed into the park, me and a sizable amount of others. Not packed, but crowded.

Speed limit in the park is 45 mph so that suits me just fine. Every geyser and pull out had lots of rigs and people. Just stopped for lunch next to the river then continued on heading to Lewis Lake CG and Grand Tetons.

Got a decent spot (A82) and read and napped the afternoon away. Decided to stay here another night and get out early to backtrack and see the geysers. Hopefully by 7:00.

Nice dinner of pork steak and salad. Walked down by the lake and got some cell coverage so got a text off to Allie. I know there is good coverage in Grant Village so i plan on uploading everything tomorrow and the blog will be up to date. That’s if my IT guy has done his work.

Good night.

  1. IT guy checking in! Completed my tasks, I also changed the neon green background back to white. I am really hoping that was done by mistake.
