I want to get a early start and drive the South Rim road before leaving the area. Got going before 8am and slowly drove out to the end. A bit of traffic, a bit of walkers for early in the morning. Walked out to the points and overlooks and took some pictures.

There is a big rec area and reservoir to the east of me, towards Gunnison CO.  Decided to see what that was all about. Lots of campgrounds and picnic areas. Fueled(12.28) got some groceries in Gunnison and backtracked to CO149 that sort of goes south. My maps of this area are lacking but I have a great app “AllStays” that shows ALL the camping spots.

Got to Red Bridge CG about 2pm. Seven sites. Mine is right on the river. Saw some big fish but no license, no internet. Walked the road by the stream and thought about fishing but didn’t. Broke my $10.00 sunglasses I’ve had for 3 years! Damn.

Got some big postcards ready for the Moore and Newman families. Won’t mail them for a couple of days.

I need to start slowing down and camping a couple of days or more when I hit these good spots. But the lure of what’s down the road tugs me in the mornings. Tomorrow here again I think tonight but ….. Good night
