The weather is fabulous! High 70’s day/ mid 30’s night. A beautiful morning by the river. Out and rollin’ by 8.

It’s funny the way things workout. I was truly going to backtrack and go down by Tellride on my way to Utah but when the wheels got to the pavement a couple of days ago, I went east instead of west. It’s taken me thru the Colorado high country at a almost prime time. Colorado 149 is the highway. Hit 11,500′ today crossing Continental Divide. The aspens are changing to that golden color and some reds on the hillside are just showing. Haven’t been below 8800′ for a couple of days. Crossed a bowl of a wide valley at 10,000′. Wow! But the best part is I have come thru the mountains that are the source of the Rio Grande! This is the river that separates US from Mexico down in Big Bend country. So I have been to the end of the Rio Grande and now the beginning. I am tempted to follow it down thru New Mexico all the way to Big Bend. Been following it all day and tonight I’m camped on it.

Fished it hopper/San Juan worm today but nothing. Got my License online today. Five-dayer. I am going to follow the Rio Grande( 3rd longest river in US, by the way) to South Fork then most likely go west towards Mesa Verde. But following the Rio Grande has some appeal.

Finished Jack Nicklaus book. Okay. Back to Game of Thrones. Need to get to a campground with some coverage and download some more books. Coverage been real spotty up here in the high country. Starting down tomorrow into some lower country. Updated just text today, no pictures. The signal would come and go. Took FOREVER to get my license from Colorado Wildlife Parks. But I had patience and it finally all worked out. Hopefully upload pictures and today’s stuff tomorrow. Good night. Harper did you but my snowball in the freezer?
