Quiet campground. I broke the silence by starting Bill @ 7:45am. Drove down to the registration store and shower area and took care of both. Clean, decent shower heads and plenty of hot water. And FREE. First one at the registration store. Going to stay thru Saturday night and leave Sunday. $17 per night. That’s with the senior 50% discount. You can see why you don’t see too many poor people camping.

I take a couple more bites and finally decided something isn’t right. I find 1/4 of the sheet of paper that divides the cheese slices. I thought I looked.
Knife’s Edge Trail is the original road into Mesa Verde. I thought 2 miles one way, turns out 2 mile roundtrip. I’m in my class A hiking garb with 4 bottles of water, binos, camera, others are in their flip-flops! Nice walk/hike with a lot of big views.
Tomorrow, more ruins. A full days worth I think. Then Saturday go into Cortez CO and fuel/propane and grocery run. Come back and do another small hike in the afternoon or…..

wow. Eating paper sandwiches, huh? I don’t think they have very high nutritional value.
