Perfect day to leave early. Badlands NP is a driving park. Lots of panorama. Not much foot traffic. Camp was still when i started Bill and pulled out. Nice drive, filthy buffalo and the scenery till 10:30ish then too much traffic. Made it to Visitor Center by noon. Ready to start heading south. Made a tactical error on route choice and ended up using the interstate for 68 miles backtracking to Rapid City. Was going to Wyoming but decided to go to Nebraska and The National Fur Trading Museum and just catch the west edge of Nebraska. So i could of gone straight south from Badlands instead of doing the interstate gig. Oh well, got a shower out of the deal. Hot Springs, SD, Evans Plunge. 87F water year round. Which sounds warm, but is…. not cold. $14.00 for shower and a swim in the “plunge”.
Sleuth camping tonight in Hot Springs. Tomorrow another museum!
