Thursday 9/30
I find that i like a early start. I’ve tried both, a leisure morning start, rolling out 9-10 and a sevenish start when no one is on the roads yet. Of course i like to settle in by 2pm so a leisure start doesn’t leave time for miles with all the things to stop and see. So, early start this morning. About 150 miles today. Big day. Straight thru Sturgis/Rapid City megalopolis to Sage Creek CG. Traffic was fine and the interstate jog short and HWY44 is a nice quiet road.Bear Creek Road is next. Thirty miles of mighty fine washboard. Beautiful views everywhere.
I’m not going to mention names, Mike, but if you are looking at the blog on your phone in the bathroom then you are missing some great details. The scenery is spectacular! Wild horses and buffalos together!
Rattle into Sage Creek CG…a semi flat spot that has two outhouses in the middle of a prairie dog town. “Sufferin’ sucotach!” From a prairie dog character in a cartoon in my childhood . About worth what it cost, $0. I did get a nice walk in and found a air-pod charger/container with …only the left bud. No right. the left bud was not in camp, i cruized around checking. Oh well i can listen in my left ear only.
Nice sunset.
