Town day. Left Hovenweep about 9am to do laundry, groceries, a safety stop and see a couple of pueblos. Cortez is a hour away and some sights to see on the way. Population: 8500. Didn’t see a Walmart. Nice laundromat. Busy. One load in the commercial machine and $3.25 later….i’m wondering were the start button is? Finally ask the lady down from me and she walked over and pushed the green button.
Been trying to load pictures. Not going so well. Lots of one bar reception on this trip. One bar means you can call but uploading pictures is frustrating. So well the laundry is going i’m out in the schooner uploading multiple sets of 12 images. Uploading written stuff is zip. Got about half uploaded. There is a spot by my campsite that seems to get better coverage than not. I will try it tonight.
Stopped at Lowery Pueblo on the way home. About 20 miles from Hovenweep. Big Kiva. Let me say this about BLM and the way they handle camping and sites. Their artwork puts USFS ans NPS to shame. Their lack of rules is refreshing. Their interpretation signs always informative. I like BLM.
