Another early start. Since i left Montana it seems like i’ve been on a busman’s holiday. Drive everyday find a place to stay, sleep, then up early again. Hwy92 is a currrrvey road that follows the edge of the canyon for 75 miles. Slow 20-30 mph for the vast majority and almost nowhere to pass. Lots of nice overlooks but nothing that turned my crank from a camping POV. Just a beautiful drive down thru Montrose and on into Telluride.
The roads i have been on in Colorado are bitch’en. Bruce Faul and i traded emails about crossing the divide and some roads to travel. CO9 was a great suggestion! Thanks, Bruce. The only thing is i needed to be here the first of September when everything was open. I finally find a “Parking” area at about 9500′ to spend the night. Nice spot by the river with super views.
