Sunday 11/7
Woke up early. Had a cup of decaf and watched the sun chase the shadows away. Mid 50’s. Finally got prepped to go about 9am. Short drive, but 40 miles is dirt. Should of stopped and uploaded at Verizon but wasn’t sure they were open Sundays. I think Montana and Arizona are back on the same time zone. Was going to stop and facetime the Moores but the opportunity never happened.
There were more things i should of took care of while in Safford but …. I was ready to go. Nice #4 gravel road. Bill ran 30 mph most of the way. The nearest town(?) Kloydike Az. Which is one small store and a dilapidated RV Park. The campground is a mile or so away.
After setting up i walked down to the store and checked out the map of the canyon. Bought a Heath “Klondike” bar and ate it on the walk home. Tomorrow the canyon.
In the afternoon i had old home week with the former host of Riverview CG. They are the host of this CG. They remembered Bill and the schooner. Interesting.
