Not as cold last night. I seem to sleep better in the schooner. CPAP works fine and one trip outside to check out the stars. I got out for a walk first thing, lots of mountain lion warning but no carry this morning. Saw Steve the CG host who got me another nights stay from a cancellation. Move Bill and the schooner right away and then walked to the visitors center. Capitol Reef has over a million visits a year. If there is going to be any type of hiking/camping left to future generations we need to deal with it starting now.
This is a nice area with scenic walks/hikes. Went up Coho Canyon this afternoon full regalia. Pack, walking stick, green chair, camera, binos, safety and protection. Interesting I’m carrying a lighter load this trip and felt a bit more nimble. Not sure my hips would quite agree. I have a backup to the green chair with me but it’s a bit heavier and longer. The new Canon replacement a GX7 is slightly bigger and thicker then the GX9 but the viewing screen rotates and hinges so i can stand above the camera and see what I’m shooting. It’s a handy feature.
All in all a nice place to overnight but still too cold, so south i head tomorrow
