I did notice big piles of dirt or something across the road yesterday. I didn’t notice the railroad cars nor the huge loader across the street. Why the bastards never started up the loader till 9:00pm I’ll never know. But i know it ran ALL night long. All night. If the constant drum of the diesel with no muffler bothers me, just imagine.
As soon as it was light the operation across the road shut down. Soon after we were headed to Lake Mead. I use a app AllStays for campgrounds and dispersal camping. It listed two dispersals on the way, Snow Mesa and Poverty Flats. Picture old westerns with the Indians sitting on their horses on the bluff. Just sub in RV of all shapes and sizes. Winds are to pick up in the next few days, not a good spot.
Echo Bay Campground and Marina!
Except the Lake has receded enough that the marina is boarded up. Looks like for awhile. Two campgrounds, close to 50-60 sites, almost empty. But the lake is right here. $10 per night got me #11. Got Blaze out and took off exploring. Blaze just adds another whole dimension to traveling. Thanks, Uncle D for pushing me. I was able to ride all the way to the lake and even found a spot to skinny dip and clean up. Four bars about 1/4 of mile from campsite so i could catch up with things electronically. And super plus, the marina store that has multiple kinds of ice cream!!!
Tomorrow, fill prescription in Henderson about 35 miles away then come back here tomorrow night. The weather is to be rougher for the next few days so may extend my stay here.
