Sunday 11/12
Okay off we go. Leisurely start, left Missoula finally about 1:00pm, headed up Hwy 12 over Lolo Pass. The plan is to stay on Hwy 12 till INTERSTATE 84, follow that to see the waterfalls in the Multnomah / Bridal Veil area. Of course that means INTERSTATE, traffic and because they are only 20-30 miles from Portland, driving thru the CITY. But from what I read, these are a big deal so I’m mentally prepared.
The drive down the Lochsa and Clearwater makes me always say, “I need to spend some time over here. I think next summer a loop over 12 and back up to St. Maries and St. Joe River over the pass to Superior. A week, 10 days should get you some super fishing.
A few shore steelhead fishermen out and maybe one or two boats. I steelheaded this area with Che Garrard and Jason Gagner’s dad 20 years ago. Guided trips, caught lots of fish but it was COLD.
Pink House Campground was one of our put-in spots and so that’s were I’ll spend the night. Tomorrow, certainly NOT “the road less traveled”.
