Early start out of North Unit. Dumped black and gray water and added 15 gallons potable water.Bit overcast to the southeast which is kinda where i going. US85 is not a slow road. I will need to find a alternate route tomorrow when i leave the South Unit.
The Overlook/Rest Stop on I94, The Painted Canyon of Roosevelt Park maybe. Nice, real nice. Short I94 drive to the South Unit, but on the way i see Sully Crk State CG. Hmm, only a couple of miles out of my way (if i have a way). I putz in and Ranger Craig gives me the low down.$17 per basic site, $35 for electrical site. Plus state fee of $7 per visit or $35 per year. Fieldgrass field, no shade, no water feature. But there were showers! Going to be HOT today, so no shade is a no go. Bye Sully Crk
Roosevelt Park just off I94 must get lots of tourist. Roll after roll of small “cabins” on the way in. Talked to Jeff, the Host, who gave me the low down on avaliable sites. About 1/3 of 54 sites avaliable. Got #26 with some shade and some sun for solar.
Took a couple of short strolls thru the CG but it was hot, so mostly sat in the shade and read. 100F today but low humidity. The schooner was hot, low humidity or not. Sat outside till past dark. Nice lightning storm way off in the southeast.
