Hopefully the holiday campers have vacated and a spot at JTNP shouldn’t be a problem. Back up plan dispersal camp off Box Canyon Road. It’s only 50-60 miles from Allan&Bev’s. Plenty of time to cruise Palm Springs and vicinity.

Followed HWY 111 thru Palm Springs and all of the desert cities in the area. I’m needing propane but nothing easy is open on Sunday. Also been looking for a Oslo Drug to refill my prescriptions. No Osco at Albertson’s.

The traffic was slowing and backing from HWY 111 going westbound. That’s about 70-80 miles from LA. This is not a great place on holidays. Fortunately I’m heading opposite. Once I am past Indio, everything seems to clear out. Jousha Tree NP turn off. Yea!

The campground is deserted. The spots aren’t the best for privacy so I pick B30, no B29, no B30 is the one. The sun is shining, must be mid 70’s or so. There seems to be a couple of hiking trails about a 1/2 mile from camp. Okay, Lost Palm Oasis, 4.7 miles one way. A Mine, 2.1 mile loop. This will work.

Too late today to try either and tomorrow I need to run into Indio to refill some prescriptions and try to get ahold of Bob G. Indio is 25 miles or so from JTNP. No service in JTNP so I got all my texting done and set to send when in service.

The night sky is ……. clear. Lots of stars and about 50 degrees. I have a nice app on my ipad for star gazing. Good night moon, good night little old guy watching the moon!
