Thursday 10/14
It was chilling this morning, high 30’s. Had the heater on. installing this Wave 6 Catalytic Heater is working out. No power. High is 9000 btuh and low is 3500 btuh. There is 21,000 btu in a pound of propane and i carry 20#. Do the math. And it’s quiet. Putzed around this morning waiting for the day to warm up. Taking my day pack today so went thru that. Finally had a safety meeting and took off about 10am. Got 50 paces and remembered the binos so head back. I’m wearing long sleeve flannel shirt and down vest, gloves with a handwarmer in one pocket and a stocking cap in my pocket, just in case. Grab the binos and turn to lock back up and say, shit throw that rain coat in. And i did!
Sprinkled off and on all afternoon. Nice walk with some nice stops. No green chair! Well not one i want to carry. I have a nice new green chair! A little higher, a little sturdier and a whole lot heavier. It’s fine around camp and short walks but it’s heavy. I have the OG green chair skeleton and chair pattern with me. Thinking it could be a project Bev can help me with. It’s a PITA not having a stool! My shoulders gave me some notice about carrying a pack. Seven and half miles per my apple watch. Tomorrow….. i leave, but do hang out in this area or head south….
