Beautiful morning. I’ve been going to bed early and getting up late. Usually have my cup of coffee( in my found Yeti cup!) outside depending on the wind. Plan out my walks/rides for the day and walk down to use the shitter and fill a couple of gallon containers of drinking water. This morning i’m exploring all the cracks in the spiney cover by the Gila river. Long sleeves, gloves, long pants. Some nice spots once you get thru the garbage. Messed around all morning by the river and had a ham sandwich for lunch.
The afternoon adventure is a Blaze ride to the top of the mesa and then back down to the river. It’s about 2 miles to the drop back down into the canyon. Old paved road. Steep drop into the canyon. Get to the bottom and it deadends in the river. No crossing, no road on the other side. Anticlimatic. The climb out was a dosey. Twenty percent grade. Wasn’t sure Blaze had enough torque to carry me out. It was a Assist 5 lowest gear all the way up. Burned a whole bar! Assist or no assist it takes muscle to pedal. Once back to the top it was downhill home. I’m missing my sunglasses!
Decided to take a walk before it got dark. Walked up to the top of the mesa to check emails. Cruising down the trail and DAMN if it ain’t my Sunglasses lying in a bush!!!! I HOOTED loud! Made my day!
