You would think that after a couple of weeks of the date being wrong on my watch I would of changed it already. No, no I play the guessing game. The date is more important then the time. First thing the little envelope wants is date. So when befuddled I write the date with a ? and the day. I’m usually pretty good with what day it is. Last night at Cottonwood Campgrounds. This will be # 4.
No ill effects from yesterday’s walk. I figure 10+ miles. My shoulder is stiff from the day pack. All that goddamn water. I continue to prune the contents of the pack. I just shorted up the paracord I carry. Yesterday near the end I wished I halved the toilet paper too.
Meant up with Bob G. His other hip is sore and maybe it will need to be replaced. No golf but got to see his place and bullshitted the afternoon away. Plastic bags and California. When you go to the market, if you don’t have a bag, they sell you one for $0.10. Now these ain’t your cheap thin plastic bags I’m used too. These are …..Target/Macy quality. Thick, heavy, the kind of bag you would be proud to give a Christmas present in. I asked the cashier and bagger who got the money, they really couldn’t answer and they work at a market! Too good of bags to use for garbage, so I’m saving them.
Thought I might try another campground but it was late and I don’t like driving in the dark and I’m in no hurry. Got a little dangerous tho and stayed in B2 instead of B30. Pushin the envelope a bit. It was a pretty safe move Allie. Plus, closer to the bathrooms!
So tomorrow, cruise thru the park to HWY 62. Maybe stay another night….or two… at a different campground. Still might be some oasis to see. Hwy 62 takes me to John the Plumber. Spend a day or two there and depending on the weather be home mid / end of next week.
Kevin White! I texted him when I was on the Oregon Coast, that’s where he was when I last connected. He is back in SLC….where I don’t know. So depending on weather may try to hunt him up on my way back.
