Wednesday 2/14
Foggy overcast morning. Only going 40 miles today, so no need for a early start. Cruise Del Rio a bit but end up back at Walmart. Seems like everywhere i turn there is something that is on my list. Fill the order and go load up the schooner.
Good-bye Del Rio, oh wait, propane. Right on the highway heading out. $12.00. Yep we are ready for Seminole Canyon, oh shoot, a laundromat. Haven’t washed clothes or bedding since Allan&Bev’s. Two loads. $2.25 per. Dryer $1.50 for 21 minutes. Yeaaa! Clean clothes, groceries, propane, bicycle pump and a new water bottle!
Before you can say Pecos River, i get to Seminole Canyon SP. $10.00. Get #44 again. Get Raleigh down and decide to ride to the Pecos River Overlook. My right Achilles is still sore. Any stretching let’s me know instantly. But doesn’t seem to be a problem on the bike. I stopped at this overlook coming in. It is really nice. Spent sometime there and see there is a road that heads down towards the river. Hmmm. It’s a long ways down which means it’s a long ways up. Nope. Head back to camp. The rest of the afternoon i read in the sunshine. Low 70s AND the sun is shining!
Reading multiple books right now, a Jack Reacher by Lee Child, the Crossing by McCarthy and a western. Normally one at a time but went to sample each one and went way to far on each.
Tomorrow. A couple of hundred miles to get back to BBNP. I’m ready to go, just make coffee and a safety meeting and go. Should be a nice drive.
