Saturday 11/17

Got going by 6:10 this morning. Wasn’t feeling great so i decided to forgo anymore hikes and head straight to Joshua Tree. It’s a Saturday so getting a camp spot might be hard.

I love driving in the desert. The road from Death Valley to 29 Palms is certainly a road less traveled, but this is California. Still, with XM radio and rolling about 55 mph it goes by fast. I could easily make it to Allan&Bev’s today but would really like to spend another night at Joshua Tree. Find a spot just off the road where i have 4 bars of 4G. I have been in 3G extended (whatever that means, no internet tho) I update TTRLT.N and even upload some pictures that i haven’t taken the time to blog about. I also notice i didn’t post Bruce Hunter’s picture on 11/8 so cleaned that up.

Went by the salt flats, National Chloride Company(i think). Stopped and took some pictures. This is where some of your salt comes from! Interesting. Got stopped for 5 minutes by the CHP while a chase scene was being filmed for some movie.

Hit 29 Palms and did a market run. Okay Joshua Tree here i come…..”All Campgrounds Full” is the first sign once i hit the Park. I know there is wild camping on the other side by the freeway so it doesn’t make me turn around. And if necessary i could make it to A&B today. The Park is PACKED! Cars everywhere.EVERYWHERE! Ah California! Get thru and hit the wild camping area and, of course, there are camper’s everywhere! Ah California! Go down a side road and kinda horn in next to another RV. Not California horn in but Montana horn in-a couple of hundred yards. A&B’s tomorrow.
