Sunday 9/15
Mid-morning start as i wanted to go by Costco and have my hearing aids cleaned. I didn’t need anything but it takes 15-20 minutes for the cleaning so i ended up spending $ on some things i didn’t need.
Bill should be happy, oil change, trans service, fresh oil in all the differentials, new tires, cleaned air filter! XM radio renewed, windshield RainXed. Nice…. so that narrows it down to 490 things to go wrong.
The plan is backroads to Dillion, then interstate to Monida then across the Centennial Valley to Red Rocks Lake Wildlife Refuge, thru Yellowstone, south thru Grand Tetons and Jackson to Green River and then down Flaming Gorge which will put me into NE Utah. That’s as far as I’ve got mentally. The gravel road from Monida to ( 50+ miles ) West Yellowstone is truly a road less traveled.
Fairly uneventful day today. Just montana backroads to Dillion, where i fueled up. Then a little bit of interstate to Clark Canyon Reservoir where I’m spending the night. ALL the fishing access sites on the Beaverhead were packed around Dillion!
Tomorrow Centennial Valley.
