This week went fast. I’ve settled in. I’m still moving things around but I’ve settled in! I have had, and knew where it was, most everything I wanted. Except today, 4- AA rechargeable batteries for my shortwave radio. Having a functional kitchen/refer makes doing these road tours so much nicer. Never mind having a bathroom! Cup of tea? No problem. Feel like a sandwich before going on that bike ride, done.

Today, Dead Horse Point State Park. It’s on the way out of canyonlands, which early, isn’t to crowded. $20.00 entrance fee. No senior discount. I do the overlook thing but this park is really for mountain bikes. Lots of trails, lots of bikes, lots of kids. Try facetiming the Moore girls but technical difficulties won’t let it happen. Leave the Island in the sky area and head back towards Moab. Hwy 128 is the road I want. The bike path goes up past the first CG but it is full. So is the second and the third. Fourth has one open site but not for me. Fifth, Big Bend CG. Nice site #14, $10.00 with SD. I’ll stay here tonight but try to get a site closer to Moab tomorrow or Monday.

Nice camp site right on the Colorado River. Good size river, think Clark Fork but bigger. Walked around a bit, read a bit. Had a fire this evening but to many bugs attracted to laptop screen to work out there. Fairly uneventful day. Good night.
