Nice sunrise this morning. Take my word for it. Picture perfect out the schooner’s bedroom window. Nice and snug. It was nice but not jump out of bed, get the camera nice. But it did wake me up earlier then normal so on the road by 8am. Wasn’t very far till I hit the highway. No traffic this morning so I putz along at 25mph. Just checking it out. See a sign, Gooseneck State Park. Right turn. Nice paved road that dead ends at a pretty mesa overlooking the river in a big “S” curve. Five bucks to get into the park and look over the edge. I was surprised that someone was working the entrance station at 9am on a Tuesday. This is a long ways from nowhere. I paid and took a couple of pictures but there was snow on the ground here too.
A long day of driving and I finally ended up in Grand Canyon Mather CG. And it is COLD here. This is the main visitor center on the South Rim. I think I’m blowing out of here in the morning after a shower. High tomorrow here is forecast 36F. I need mid 60s minimum. But it is the Grand Canyon and I never stopped at any of the overlooks on my way in ’cause it was late. We’ll see in the morning. Good night.
