Wednesday 10/30

It’s cold. Ten above this morning. Woke up about 2:30am and ran the heater for a hour. It was 36F when I started it and 41F when I shut it down and went back to sleep. I dumped my black and gray water yesterday afternoon. Nothing was froze this morning other than me. Walked down to the showers. Marginal shower head but it was hot. The wind is blowing and I shivered all the way back to the schooner. I am out of here. I’m going to go back the way I came and stop at a couple of overlooks and stop at Desert View CG, which is closed, just to check it out.

Well, I stopped a couple of times but made quick work of the picture taking and got back in Bill. I am out of here. Sedona is my direction, south of Flagstaff. The area is really pretty but to crowded to stop and enjoy the scenery. Chug right thru Sedona to some dispersal camping, 15-20 miles south. The sun is shining but even here it is cold. Mid 50s with gusty winds.

I sort of have a plan…stay warm. If that means more south, so be it. This cold snap has driven me out of the canyon lands sooner than I wanted. A change of pace now, more forest. Arizona fishing license $55. Not sure when seasons end. My knee is limiting my hiking and bike riding. I need a new activity. This cold has limited everything. I think it’s over so let the fun begin again. I have had bubble wrap up on all the windows and the heater going during the day, not good. Tomorrow, not far, Camp Verde, Arizona. Weather looks great and looks like some good camping. We’ll see. Good night.

P.S. This was my day to stumble on to things. A daypack and knife on the side of the road on my way to the shower this morning.I propped it up so you couldn’t miss it. A iPad that i stumbled over down at Desert View. In a dark cover in the shade. Set that up to be seen. Crazy!
