There is one group site in this campground and it is being camped in by Pack 648, Scottsdale Az. A steady procession of cars after dark last night. This morning, thirty Boy Scouts plus families. I have the one site by the water and a walking bridge that goes from my site to the main campground. A nice site, that’s why I decided to stay a few days. Water, small bridge and Boy Scouts. They been here all day doing kid stuff. Loudly. The caretaker chased them off once early this morning but I told him I was fine. Now what he replied, I have no idea. This is the caretaker who has no voice. Think laryngitis. Impossible to understand standing directly next to him. The gist of the gestures and facial ticks was he didn’t want them beating the shit out of everything….I think.
Was going to visit another ruin today and while drinking my tea I was reading up about them. It’s one of those “look at it from across the canyon” sites. Finished my tea and decided that I would go back to bed instead. So I did. Slept another hour!
Got some reading in, got some cleaning in and got a shorter walk in. Too long yesterday, Mr. 2.66 miles. Today 1.16 miles. Just walked up the creek under the trees. No Boy Scouts!
Now, tomorrow. Theodore Roosevelt Res. Been doing some studying on it. Might be the perfect spot. Both campgrounds with showers and a dispersal camping area. We’ll see. I’m getting a golfing itch but I’m not confident in my knee. Plenty of time. Good night. Oh and elevation 2088′, the lowest I will have been this trip. Which means warmer(I hope)!
