Perfect night and morning. Been sleeping with just the screen door open of my main door. Gives me more circulation and a better view. Mid 60s at night and almost to hot, mid 80s during the day. Nice in the shade, hot in the sun. This site gets too much afternoon sun so I am moving. Work my way down to the other campgrounds on the lake but they aren’t anything special. Got all the way to the town of Roosevelt and turned around and headed back. There is a road that follows the canyon at the outlet from the dam. Gravel and steep. Looks a little scary. But there is a dispersal area and a CG about 7 miles in. Here’s the thing, if it was the least bit dangerous they wouldn’t let you near it. Turns out after a mile it widens and is a nice road.
First dispersal area another steep road. Get to the bottom, one person fishing and camping. Small area but there was room for two or maybe three. But I don’t want to camp that close. I BS for a bit and continue on to Lower Burnt Corral CG. This will work, maybe 30 sites and 4-5 campers and the always there, Camp Host. Nice spot to be a host!
Read, napped and walked around. I have a nice spot. $10. Paid for two nights. Beautiful day. High puffy clouds and a occasional raindrop or two. Nice evening. Sat down by the water and watched the sunset. Tomorrow, the same. Good night.
