Shut down their engine, turned off their lights. I just happened to be looking out that direction to notice. Little bit of noise but not high schoolers drinking. After 1/2 hour I hear their truck start and they come down the road that my site is off of and STOP directly across from my site and shut off the lights and two people get out. The cab lights didn’t go on but a bright moon I could tell it was two people. Hmmm…..headlamps come on and they dive into the dumpster that also happens to be across from my site and systematically strip it of ? My guess recyclables but too dark to see. I could hear cans and bottles. A guy and his wife or maybe, kid.  Professional trash pickers! Hitting the campground after a three day weekend. I looked the next morning, it was full. Nothing on the ground. The area was clean. Had me remembering where the 10mm was for a bit, tho’.

Added 14 gals of water to the schooner this morning 2 1-gallon jugs at a time. Arizona law, can’t hook hose to their hose bibb. Sitting with over 20 gal water, just where I want to be.

The drive today is 128 miles, mostly thru the San Carlos Apache Reservation. We didn’t give them much. Lots of American flags displayed. Safford Az. Is not on the reservation and from a economical viewpoint, very evident. The white man got the best land. Big farms. Cotton is the cash crop. Gila River is the water source. I’m camped tonight in the Gila River Riparian Corridor. Only two Riparian corridor in the US. Nice campground! $2.50! BLM land.

Got a nice long walk in. My knee is still a bit tender and doesn’t like any twisting. I’m still on restriction and want to keep it around five or less. Jonathan says 4.0 miles today. Little overcast today and windy. Mid 50s. Safford is a couple thousand feet higher. A little cooler suits me! But not cold! Oh dear it’s 10:10pm. Good night!
