Tuesday 4/11
My last round at Mt Graham. Haven’t been keeping score. Been using my Garmin and it’s a PITA to use the score part. I blistered the two fingers, I normally tape, in the first round. I’ve taped them since but they are still tender. I’m okay with my golf and will hunt a little harder for courses as I head west.If I concentrate and don’t let my mind wander (ha!, good luck with that!) I hit the ball. The two par 3s both balls on the green. All pars! My driving was erratic. My first ball normally the better. I am hit or miss on irons but these new clubs give me some leeway. Guess: mid 40s.
Tomorrow south to Chiricahua country before making a right and getting to the west side of the state. John Ricker’s for at least a night in Lake Havasu City.
I need internet access tonight so may need to drive to the top of the canyon. Nice afternoon by the river! Then 6 or so high school girls spruced up my campsite, moved rocks, picked up tiny pieces of trash while I BS with their leader about golf. DH;NA (didn’t hear:no aids) exactly why they were doing what they were doing.
I think I was in my Albert Einstein look. I think I was invisible to those girls tho. The behemoth stays cool. 88 outside, I have all the windows and vent open and there is a breeze. I moved inside so as not to distract the girls from their tasks. Me standing there in my whitey-tightys may have been bit much. Anything for a giggle.
As I sit here typing the USGS is getting the river cable car ready to ? Stand by… back note, i looked this over pretty good and said #1 it’s missing some vital parts and #2 it still looked tippy! He’s assembling cross pieces. He has a green hat and shirt- his truck said USGS-he has a green hat and gray shirt-stand by…the cart is still chained-….maintenance on river cable car? I just didn’t have a good enough imagination as a kid. Nice job! I have binos so I can see half way thru the ocotillos.
