Wednesday 4/19

Left early. This campsite was 10 miles or so off highway. Nice gravel road that climbed the side of a canyon. Got down and to 93N and headed to Lake Mead which is behind Hoover Dam.

Big lake. Lots of boats. Lots of cars. Lots of motorcycles. I followed the road that follows the lake shore. Stopped a couple of places to look at the campsites but nothing struck my fancy. I did want to stay on the lake but….. decided Overton Beach was the spot. Got there closed for remodel. Valley of the Fire State Park was 10 miles away so off I go.

Okay spot. Crowded. Took a nice walk in the canyons when I came out I was going to be in someone camp site, so turned arounded and headed back up. Nice canyon. Got back and had a safety meeting. Look out and the local ranger is parked in front of Bill. Ticketing the guy across from me for parking on dirt. Really? For parking on natural soil? I had to leave, my rebel blood was rising. Did I say it was crowded? Full campground. Oh well.

Almost to Mesquite maybe 60 miles.
