Sleeping with just the screen door shut is working out fine….except when I forget to close the little sliding door that accesses the latch. Did that about three this morning and woke up to a couple of birds flying around inside the schooner bashing into windows. Used a towel to herd them out. Thank goodness…

Hwy 88 is a unpaved road from Lake Roosevelt south 44 miles to Apache Junction. It was put in to haul material to construct the dam in the twenties. Lower Burnt Corral CG is actually on Apache Lake, which is the second of four dams in that distance. Two major calamities have hit this area…
